Confound these ponies, fairies, etc...

I've never written about things that were going on in my own life like this before, but in this case, I'll make an exception.

This is not just one of my blog posts; it's a confession.

I have taken a liking to only a few things on the girls' front. Some people would register me as a complete 'deviant' in this case, and they'd be right.

I wound up having 3 things catch my eye, as follows:

- My Little Pony

This would not register as anything girly now, but my father believes otherwise. My Little Pony, in fact, was targeted towards girls before Lauren Faust took control and revamped the whole thing. Now, it wound up with more male fans than you can stick a shake (or shake a stick?) at. However, if it weren't for Bonnie Zacherele, who initially created the franchise, MLP wouldn't have been what it is now. More on the subject of the male MLP fandom, the "Bronies," is in the YouTube Video entitled "The Brony Chronicles, part 1."

Enough of that; here's how I wound up getting into MLP:

I first picked up some talk from a few guys at school one day. They were talking about ponies till the bell rang. I decided to look up a couple names they mentioned, and presently, I've seen some screenshots of the new MLP program, although I didn't know that it was My Little Pony related...until I decided to search YouTube. Right then, I started to watch a few episodes. Later, I found out that it was being broadcast on the Discovery Family network, which was called The Hub at the time. My family had satellite TV, but that channel, however, wasn't included in our package. Luckily, however, the company we had an account with, Dish, had a small channel package specifically meant for rural areas, called the "Heartland Package," which included the channel. My mom added that package in the account, and then we had access to My Little Pony at the time of broadcast from that point on. Since I started getting into MLP, that has happened, and I have read a few fanfics and fan comics. Couldn't expect anything less.

- Strawberry Shortcake

That's something I would describe as nothing less than a "light" thing. Although named after a common dessert food, the girl wound up catching my eyes anyway. At present, I wound up buying three or four dime-store colouring books of it. I've only coloured a few pictures. She also has a television broadcast, entitled "Strawberry Shortcake's Berry Bitty Adventures," which I wasn't big on watching, anyway. But one thing I wound up using was an endless run game called "Berry Rush." I'd delve into this more, but at the moment, I'd rather be pressed for time than go on in this subject.

- The Disney Fairies

Yes, Tinkerbell and her friends. I got into the Disney Fairies well before My Little Pony. Since then, we've got nearly every Tinkerbell film. I even had an account with the Pixie Hollow MMOG for a time.

There you have it. If you want to communicate about this some more, feel free to reach me on Twitter @JacobDavis1992.
